What a project!! I'm still working on little details such as painting her name on tiles to hang over the crib, painting a lamp and light switch plate, finishing another blanket and pillow, and getting some kind of toy box. It's coming along though!!
Here are some of the little things that make the room unique:
This is the fleece quilt I blogged about a long time ago. It's been done for a while but I was waiting to reveal it with the room.
This afghan was made by Mom for Jaden before she was born. We brought her home from the hospital in it and will do the same for Taylor.
This is the crib that Gramps made. He started it when I was pregnant with Jaden. She used it and LOVED it, but has passed it onto her little sis now that she is in a big girl bed. This crib will be around for a long time. Hopefully the girls will be able to use it for their kiddos someday!
Some of the clothes that Jaden wore when she was a newborn. When I was washing and hanging them, I couldn't believe that Jaden was once THAT TINY!! I'm sure Taylor will get good use out of them!
And last but not least, this is a video of the kitty Jaden made for Taylor. Make sure you have you sound turned up so you can hear Taylor's heartbeat! We put it in the kitty :o) The purple blankie was picked out by our resident blankie expert, Miss J. It is EXACTLY like hers but purple. She loves her own blankie so much, she wanted Taylor to have one just like it :o)
That's it for now! I'll get pictures of the other projects once they are done. Oh, and if anyone out there has a toy box they are wanting to get rid of, let me know how much you want for it! I'll be searching garage sales in the meantime!
Next major redo: THE BASEMENT!!
Absolutely ADORABLE!!!
ReplyDeleteTerrific job, Shannon!
I love it! The colors are so bright and cheerful Taylor will definitely be a happy little lady! BTW - can't wait to see you, Jaden and your belly this Sunday!
ReplyDeleteWow! Those colors are great! I can't believe you did all that yourself. Well done!
ReplyDeleteStarburst! Yum! That's totally where my mind went :) Super cute quilt idea, too. Such a great room to grow in!
ReplyDeleteI popped over here from MODG's blog and I have to say that i LOVE LOVE LOVE what you did to the walls of this nursery! It is SO bright and cheery and perfect! Amazing. I hope you don't mind if I bookmark it as inspiration for the day that will never come that I get a daughter ;) lol
ReplyDeleteAnd the heartbeat in the kitty? So smart! Not to mention adorable. Love it.
