Making House a Home

June 23, 2006

Today marks the three year anniversary that Mike and I signed the papers and got the keys to our house! We've done a LOT to the inside in these past 3 years. Our most recent project was the basement. With another bouncing baby coming soon, we felt it necessary to have two family rooms. Enjoy the before and after pics!

The Basement Project...

This is one of my favorite details...
This was a coffee table. We didn't use it anymore because it had such sharp corners. I got a piece of 2 inch, high density foam, cut it to size, and put it on top of the table. I then upholstered it with a heavier fabric so it can now be used as extra seating! Then, at the bottom, I put wire baskets with chalkboard tags attached to hold toys and books.

As you can see, Jaden loves her new play room! We love it too :o) It is actually my favorite room in the house now. We still have a couple of things to do. We need to get one more shelf for DVDs and I'm going to tile the front and top of the bar. It's a great room now and VERY kid friendly!

  2. Wow, this is so great! I wish I had more motivation to do more to my house.... there's a lot I want to do and it takes me forever since it's not something I LOVE.

Thanks for commenting on my blog awhile back! I meant to come back and check out your 200th post giveaway, then the comment e-mail got buried--came across it again today. :)
