I like to sew. I'm not an expert by any means, but I enjoy doing it! Jaden was always wanting to help me but I was afraid of the sharp needles so I got her some lacing boards. They were pictures of bugs with holes around them for her to lace a piece of string through. After helping her and teaching her how to do this, I realized that I could totally make something like that! She absolutely LOVES her sewing boards so I decided to make some for our friends' three-year-old son.
I just took 5x7 inch pieces of chipboard and cut out the letters of his name. Next, I Mod Podged the chipboard letters to coordinating, patterned scrapbook paper on both sides. Then, I drilled holes down the center of each letter. After all of the holes were drilled, I sanded the edges a little bit to make sure the paper and chipboard lined up perfectly. Last, I applied the top coat of Mod Podge!
I put the finished letters in a metal tin with some coordinating shoe laces! Now Colton can learn to lace and spell his name!
