We are in full on Valentine's mode at our house! Jaden asks daily, "Is Valentine's on yet?" Oh, it's on baby! This year, we are making treat tents to take to her friends at the babysitter's.
These nifty boxes are super easy to make! First, make a pattern. To do this, first draw a square. We made ours 3.25". Then, from each side of the square, draw a triangle. Our triangle sides are 3.75" long. Last, draw a tab from each side of the triangles. When you cut your pattern out, it should look like this:
Using the dimensions I used, your pattern will fit on an 8.5" x 11" sheet of paper. |
Trace your pattern onto the paper you want to use for your box. In our case, we used heart printed paper for Valentine's Day. To make folding easier, you may want to lightly re-draw your pattern lines onto the back side (inside) of your paper. Use pencil so you can erase these lines. Fold your box on all of the lines and then erase.
Next, punch a hole at the top of each triangle.
Fill your box with your favorite treats!
Close your box, making sure the tabs are on the inside.
Weave a ribbon through the holes and tie! Now you have a super cute treat tent for your valentine :o)
XOXO
