Jude saying his final goodbye to his brother.
We will never know what happened to Ty. He may be put up for adoption. I had to sign a paper when we dropped him off acknowledging that I understood that if he was not adoptable, he could possibly be euthanized. I felt like such a horrible person. There was nothing wrong with him except that he was peeing in our house. I basically signed his life away. It was SO hard for me to justify KILLING him for peeing... I still can't wrap my mind around it. I know we did what we had to do, but it was SO hard. I'm just glad Jaden isn't old enough to realize what happened. We told her Ty was sick and had to go to the doctor. She hasn't mentioned him or asked about him at all.
We miss you, buddy!! I wish we could've fixed you.

That is sooooooo sad... Im sorry for your loss.. that must have been so hard for you... xxxoo
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry!!! I completely understand!! I have had a similar struggle with my cat Meeko. I had to do some pretty invasive stuff... (shutting him in a closet for a WEEK with just his litter box) I hated doing it but,if he hadn't stopped, I would have been faced with the same delema. Acutally, the closet worked! He still has accidents from time to time, but has been MUCH better. Cats are strange creatures and very hard to control! From the sounds of things, I think you made the right choice. Perhaps being in another environment with different cats will help him break bad habits. And since you will never know, it's better to believe that. Again, so sorry....
ReplyDeletewe have the same problem with our cat. She's been wonderful for a few years and in the last 6 months or so she has started pee'ing all over the house, rarely ever in her litter box. It's so frustrating! We've left her in our laundry room for a week with her litter box, but then she goes and pees in the laundry basket.... so frustrating!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry, Shannon! I know how you feel, as I had to succumb to a similar choice, and I hope to never go through it again. The unknown is a horrible, horrible thing to feel, but knowing you can never know what happens should make it easier to paint your ideal result in your mind and firmly believe the best. Cats are such a complex creature. It is very probable a non-changing environment with an older couple will be the environment that "cures" his woes and allows him to live in contentment. Who can really say what he needs, but it's clear you gave him a wonderful home filled with love. Reassure yourself of that as you heal from the loss of him. Hugs and so much love to you and Mike.
