Let the Countdown Begin!

So, I made an advent calendar for the girls :o) I'm am SO proud of this project! It turned out AWESOME!
First, I gathered 24 little cardboard jewelry boxes and painted them in Christmas-y colors.

Then, I got a frame at a SUPER low price! I was at Jo-Ann on Black Friday and found a black poster frame in the clearance section marked down from $40 to $4 because the glass had broken out of it!! Cha-ching! Perfect because I would have taken the glass out anyway. I had some fabric left over from the dry-erase calendar I made a while back, so I used that as the background. I glued it to the wood backing of the frame using spray adhesive.

Then, I printed numbers 1-24 off on my printer in various fonts and cut them out, leaving a thin white border. Pesky Jaden thought it was HILARIOUS to blow them all off of the little foot stool they are sitting on! I picked them all up about 500 times...

Then, I arranged my boxes on the frame...
Next, I mod-podged the numbers to the box tops and hot-glued the box bottoms to the background.

Then I put J's favorite candies in each of the boxes...

I put the lids back on and it was done!!! I L-O-V-E LOVE it!! I want to hang it with a big red ribbon.

I love how the boxes are different sizes...
I want to make them for ALL of the holidays :o) Isn't it SA-WEET?!?!

Linking to all of these parties!

Seriously, I tore out/copied at least 5 different types of advent calendars for this year but I never loved any of them enough to actual make them.
