**NOTE: The night we recorded this, she had a horrible time falling asleep! I had to actually rock her in my arms. While I had a million other things to do that night, I couldn't help but savor the moment. Some day she will be too big to rock... and I will NOT be like the creepy mom in Love You Forever!**
I guess because I'm a mom and my kids are so stinkin' adorable, I'm under obligation to force you to look at them in their cutsie matching outfits, hunting for eggs on Easter. Because I don't want to lose my title as Mom of the Year, here you go!
Seven-hundred and forty-six.
I took 746 photos this Christmas season. Ridiculous. I know you don't want to look through a huge long post with all of these photos, so here is a shortened version.
On July 8, Mike and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary. To celebrate the occasion, we had our first ever professional family photo shoot! Watch this little slide show I put together... make sure you have the volume turned on! Thanks for eight great years together, Mike! I love you more everyday...
Last Friday, I gave you four statements about myself and asked you to comment and tell me which statement you thought was a lie. The first statement was, "I took dance classes all through elementary school." That is true! I started tap class when I was a tiny pup and continued through fifth grade. Then, I switched to jazz classes. I stuck with that for a year and quit... tap was more fun :o) I like to think I was pretty good! I haven't taken a class in about 16 years..... until last week. I got a refresher lesson from Kelly to fulfill all of Lala's wishes and dreams. How did it go? Well, you be the judge...
Happy birthday, Lala! Have a wonderful weekend :o)
Next, cream together the butter, peanut butter and sugars. Beat in egg. Combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt; gradually stir into the peanut butter mixture. Cover and refrigerate dough for at least one hour.
Preheat oven to 375º F. Make small balls of dough. Flatten with spatula. Cut with cookie cutter.
Bake for 10-12 minutes in the preheated oven, or until just set. Remove from baking sheets to cool on wire racks.
Then, spread a layer of strawberry icing on one cookie. Top with another cookie to make a sandwich.
Then, we decorated ours with a little chocolate icing message for Valentine's Day. We put these in our treat tents along with a hug and a kiss :o)
Enjoy! Oh, in case you are craving a little more peanut butter jelly time...
I'm linking this to my favorite linky parties this week!
It's about time we get some above-freezing temps! Lets hope for some most of these 15 inches to go bye-bye! I am SO ready for warmer weather. I think what annoys me the most is the nasty slush and the residue the salt leaves on everything. I know that with melting snow comes lots and lots of mud, but I don't really care at this point. I am SICK of the snow.
We got a new dryer. If we are friends on Facebook, you may remember my status update a few weeks ago, complaining that my dryer was dead. After a few weeks of doing laundry at Mike's parents' house, we finally got our new dryer! It's nothing fancy but let me tell you, it is QUIET. I love it. When the delivery guys were hauling away the old, dead dryer, a little chipmunk fell out of the bottom. Apparently the dryer wasn't the only dead thing in our basement... I know, disgusting. I'm actually still kind of grossed out about it.
I've found my flavor of the month. It is definitely CINNAMON! I love that sweet little spice :o) Folgers has a cinnamon swirl coffee that is A-MAZING.
Also, I have been itching to bake an apple pie. I don't know why this need is taking over every thought I have. Whenever I log onto the Internet, I immediately start googling best ever apple pie recipe. I have never made a real fruit pie from scratch. Anyone have a great recipe to share? I think I'm going to make one for the babysitter for Valentine's Day.
I live in Fort Wayne. Have you heard the buzz that Fort Wayne is getting? Even Jimmy Kimmel had a high horse moment on the topic. Here, see it for yourself:
Yeah, people are voting to rename Renaissance Square the Harry Baals Government Center. I think this is completely ridiculous. I don't care that he was the mayor. The only reason this was suggested is because it is Harry Baals. The only reason people are voting for it is to see if, when it wins, they actually name the building that. Dumb. Go here and vote on anything BUT the Harry Baals Government Center.
