You're Welcome

Girl Scout Cookie time is almost over.  Many people are sad, but I am not.  Why, you ask?  It's because of a simple discovery.  A discovery that I made, and that has changed my life.  This is super top secret.  If people find out, we may forever be doomed.  Until then, feel free to enjoy two of the best GS cookies ALL YEAR LONG for half the price!  Wait for it...

Flavor of the Month

Food
I have been obsessed with all things peanut butter lately.  I eat a PB granola bar for breakfast every morning. I HAD to have a PB cup blizzard last night. Jaden and I made PB cookies this week.  Peanut butter is currently my heaven on earth!

Music
I love this song!  I seem to have a thing for songs that are remakes of old favorites :o)

TV
I know, I know... I can't help it!  This show is like crack to me... bad for me but SO addictive!

What I'm Wearing
Earrings: Forever 21, Both Shirts: Old Navy, Jeans: Maurices, Shoes: TOMS
I'm loving gray and yellow... just about as much as that peanut butter!

Movie
Watching this TONIGHT!! :o)

Flavor of the Month: Peppermint

So, October brought my pumpkin obsession (by the way, I did try Edy's pumpkin ice cream finally and LOVED it!  Even better with chocolate syrup on it!), followed by November's cranberries.  The frosty weather led me into Starbucks the other day.  Instead of my usual grande non-fat, no whip mocha, I ordered a peppermint mocha.  Oh.my.gosh.  BEST drink on earth.
Peppermint Mocha

Did you know?

The signature red-and-white stripes of the peppermint candy cane did not become traditional until the 20th century, but nobody is quite sure who first thought of the design.

I also saw that not only does Edy's have a peppermint ice cream, but Starbucks froze my piece of heaven on earth and made a peppermint mocha ICE CREAM!

I think I'm in big trouble... February's flavor of the month may have to be Slim-Fast!

My Fool-Proof Plan for Christmas Shopping

I can't believe that Christmas is only 53 days away.  We have started shopping but haven't really got deep into it yet.  The problem we have run into in the past is getting the shopping done super early only to find that J has a new obsession by the time the holiday actually comes around.  I can't have my kid thinking that Santa isn't in tune with what she loves!  This year, I have a fool-proof plan.  I'm going to get my shopping done early and just feed J's obsessions like it's my job!  She loves 101 Dalmatians right now.  I could go buy her 101 actual dalmatians but if Christmas rolls around and she is loving something else, she won't care one bit.  So, if I buy her a bunch of dalmatian stuff, all I have to do is keep talking about dalmatians, watching 101 Dalmatians, calling her Pongo, whatever it takes for the obsession to last!  Like I said, fool-proof... right?

Sorry, I'm a little distracted today...

Ok, I have had this blog for a while.  Why do you read it?  I want to know what it is that makes people keep coming back and reading what I have to write each day.  I've been posting a lot of crafts and tutorials lately and honestly, those posts are the ones to get the most hit.  Is that what my readers like?  I don't know?  There is a mom whose daughter goes to the same sitter as my girls.  She apparently has a blog (didn't know about it but will probably search for it now) and wrote a post about the babysitter and how much she loved her.  Great, right?  I mean, I love our sitter and trust her with the lives of my daughters and I don't mind telling you about it... BUT, this mother's post was stapled to the kids' menu this week.  Now, I don't know if the mom provided the copy to the sitter or if Annie just so happen to see it, but I felt like it was a little... I don't really know how I took it.  I guess it just made me wonder who is reading my blog and what they come to me for.  For the rest of this week only, I am allowing anonymous comments (hopefully I won't get too many spammers!).  Please, if you read this post, leave me a comment and tell me why you did.  I want the good, the bad, and the ugly.  If you come to my blog because you think I'm a dork and you like watching me make a fool of myself, tell me :o)  If you think I'm the smartest and most creative person in the world (first, congratulations for realizing that), tell me!  I want to know it all!  Now watch... I'll get zero comments :o)

You want me to call you what??

If I were to have any more kids (I am NOT... ever), I wouldn't name them.  What would be the point?  They would just rename themselves when they are three anyway because they are the boss, right?

As you've probably guessed, Jaden has renamed herself AND her sister.  She will only answer to this name and if I call her Jaden, she will correct me and I have to call her by her new name.  Are you curious?  Jaden's new name is Pongo.  Yes, Pongo... as in Pongo from 101 Dalmatians.
We seriously have to call our daughter Pongo.  People at the grocery store probably think we are nuts!  "Come on, Pongo!"  Or, when we go out to dinner, "Eat, Pongo."  Yeah... it's fun.

If that wasn't bad enough, "Taylor, put that down!"  "Mom, it's not Taylor.  It's Slinky Dog."
Last weekend when they were playing, I even heard Jaden talking to Taylor, calling her Slink.  She shortened her new name!

This isn't just at home either.  Jaden... um, I mean Pongo was talking about her friends and she kept mentioning a Perdita.  Come to find out, she named her BFF Alyssa, Perdita!  The other dog in 101 Dalmatians.
Needless to say, there is never a dull moment with Miss Jaden!

We are off to see Yo! Gabba Gabba! today... I'm sure she will want to be called Toodee or Foofa after today.  Actually, we may get lucky and she will want us to call her Biz Markie!  Now wouldn't THAT be something :o)

These are a few of my favorite things

I have never been a fan of the skinny jeans.  Can you blame me though?  I live in the dumbest city in America (Men’s Health 2005) and the fourth fattest city in America (Centers for Disease Control 2002)!  There are a lot of dumb, fat people here that think they look good in skinny jeans and honestly, it makes me throw up a little in my mouth.  Well, Mike and I went jeans shopping last week and if you saw my Facebook post, you know that I am now on the skinny jeans bandwagon!  I love them!  BUT, I don't care how tight or stretchy they are, I REFUSE to call them jeggings!
Shirt: J. Crew, Jeans: Maurices, Shoes: Crocs... yes, I rock the Crocs.
If you've been a regular blog reader of mine for a while, you already understand my OBSESSION with Diet Sierra Mist Cranberry Splash!  I know I have a problem with hoarding this stuff.  I am always so afraid they will run out before I get burned out!  Remember when I almost took my own life for lack of DSMCS? Thankfully I had friends that slapped some sense into me :o)  Well, it's baaa-aaack!  The shelves were completely stocked so I only bought one 2-liter but this is how it looked that same night:
I told you I'm obsessed.  Oh, and every time I poor a glass, Mike swoops in and takes a "sip."  He then makes a disgusted face and proceeds to tell me that it is NOT good... THEN QUIT WASTING IT!  It's mine!  ALL mine!

Please, please tell me you thought of me when you watched the results show of Dancing With the Stars!  I about choked when I heard that my love, Michael Bolton, was going to be singing, but when Brooke announced that he was going to be singing Hallelujah, I seriously peed a little!  Michael is awesome.  That song is awesome.  Awesome + awesome = AMAZING!  I'm not obsessed though.  It's a complete coincidence that I married a Michael and I live on Bolton Drive.  Coincidence, I swear ;o)

One more thing that really needs no words:
Merry Christmas Eve!
