TENNESSEE... finally!

I'm sorry I haven't had the chance to post pictures from our vacation yet. Answer me this, bloggers: do you sometimes NOT have the capabilities to post pictures? Sometimes on the tool bar right above the area I'm typing in doesn't have the photo icon. So, that is ONE reason why it's taken me so long. ANYWAY... here are a few! For pics of the cabin, check out Mom and Dad's blogs.

Our cabin was decorated with pine trees and black bears. Jaden quickly made friends with all of the little bears :o) It was so cute to see her carry them around and kiss the heck out of them! We were going to get her a little black bear to bring home with her but after seeing the price tag, we decided against it. Besides, she has her precious little kitty that she clings to 24/7 so we figured she would just throw it with the other abandoned stuffed animals (including many bears).

On Saturday, Mom and Dad watched Jaden while Shane, Ashley, Mike, and I hiked a trail (pictures at the end). It was a lot of fun and SO pretty! It was a moderate trail so it wasn't TOO steep for us. I think it took us about 45 minutes to get to the top. There was a waterfall at the end.

The car ride wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Jaden kept busy for the most part. We brought books, a DVD player fully equipped with The Lion King, and her Magna Doodle. She also took a few naps. When she did get a little antsy, a cookie seemed to do the trick until we could get stopped to stretch our legs. On the ride home, she was happy and content until about the last 45 minutes. She BAWLED!!! Nothing would satisfy her. Thankfully we were just 45 minutes from home and not 45 minutes on the road. When we got home, she immediately started kissing Jude and playing with her toys.

The whole vacation was SO relaxing and a lot of fun! This was Mike, Jaden, and my first vacation together as a family. It was also the first time any of us had been to the Smokies. Definitely a great experience! The next time we go, we are going in the fall. Can you imagine all of those trees in fall colors?!?!
