Premiere Week: Modern Family

SPOILER ALERT!
You've been warned. Proceed with caution!

Modern Family

Man alive, I LOVE this show! It is one of few that actually has me literally, LOL! The season kicked off last week in two parts. In the first half, Manny packs to leave on a trip to Columbia for a month. Jay can’t find Manny's birth certificate so they have to go get a copy at the court house. Gloria has a hard time with the idea of being away from him and Jay worries she won’t let him go. Jay knows that if Manny doesn't go, then the whole family comes to visit HIM! As he was leaving, Manny hands a note to Jay to give to Gloria. When Manny is gone, Gloria reads that it was a reminder for her to keep an eye on Jay :-)  Jay found it touching and ended up missing Manny even more than Gloria.

Mitch and Cam celebrate the passing of proposition 8, the legalization of gay marriage in California! We've always known Mitch and Cam together, so now that they get to make it "official," both start coming up with a way to propose to the other. Cam wants to be the first one to pop the question and plans a romantic date. Meanwhile, Claire convinces Mitch (in a few not so romantic ways) that he should be the one to propose.

Claire can’t take having the kids home from summer vacation. She and Phil try to find a time away from them by coordinating Luke’s camp with Haley’s beach trip and Alex’s volunteering excursion.

When Cam brings Mitch to a fancy restaurant, he knows somethings up. So he makes an excuse for them to leave so he can be the one to propose. Cam has a back up plan of his own, but on the way back home, they get a flat tire. They end up proposing to each other at the same time on the side of the road under the stars. Can't wait for the wedding planning to happen!!

In the second half of the premiere, Claire starts a new job at Jay’s closet company. She brings in cookies for her new co-workers which annoys Jay (who ends up eating them all himself). She doesn’t make a great first impression in the break room, and Jay finds out about it. Claire makes matters even worse when she tells the IT guy that he’s about to be fired without Jay’s knowledge. He ends up crashing the computer system and leaving before anyone knows.

Phil and Gloria take the kids to their first day of school. Both a little sad that Luke and Manny are starting high school, so they go to get coffee together. When they show up at the cafe, a commercial is shooting and the director asks them to sit in as extras. They take it a little too seriously and end up ruining the shoot. Can I just say that I love Phil!? He is so funny!!

Cam gets a call to substitute at the kids' high school. When Cam arrives he finds out the teacher he is filling in for is in rehab and the job could become permanent. Too bad it’s for AP History, and he doesn’t know anything about it. Alex is embarrassed when Cam shows up to teach her AP History class dressed in costume. It’s also quite clear that he knows nothing about history. So Alex takes over the class and teaches the rest of the students. When Cam shows up to tell the principal he can’t teach the history class, he ends up helping with the football team. So the principal offers him the gym teacher job as long as he agrees to coach the football team.

This premiere had everything we love about Modern Family all wrapped into one night! I'm so excited for this season :-)

Premiere Week: CASTLE!

SPOILER ALERT!
You've been warned. Proceed with caution!

Castle

If you're a fan, you know that at the end of last season, Castle popped the question. You also know that Beckett was offered a job with the FBI in DC. We were left all summer wondering whether or not she would accept either proposal.

Well, she did! She accepted both Castle's proposal and the job!

Fast forward two months later and Beckett is in DC, working deep with the feds. The first scene shows her going after a gunman with a hostage in an alley and she GETS SHOT four times in the chest!! If you're like me, you gasped and said, "What the heck?!?!"  Obviously she was fine. It turned out to be a training for the FBI. Still, what a way to start the season!

It all kind of fizzled from there. Beckett was working a case and Castle was interested, but because she is FBI now, it was classified and she wasn't able to seek his insight (strike one).  As he always does, Castle found a way to get info and tried to solve the case on his own... with the help of the guys back at the precinct.  Beckett's new partner did NOT like that and demanded that he stop.

Castle ended up being taken hostage by the guy that Kate was looking for. The guy was trying to get out of Castle what the Feds had on him when he all of a sudden dropped dead in the car!  The car crashes and when Kate and her new partner show up, they see that Castle was there.

Fast forward to the end of the show, we find out that the guy that died in the car actually died from an airborne poison that came from the vents in his car... the same car that Castle was in. We find out that Castle only has a day to live (yeah, right).

Personally, I have been waiting all summer for this episode! I absolutely love this show!  What I think makes Castle work, is the chemistry between not only Castle and Beckett, but also the Castle/Beckett/Ryan/Esposito team.  Unfortunately, with Beckett working in DC, we miss out on that in a major way. Slightly disappointed on that part. (strike 2)

With only one strike left, I'm actually hoping for Beckett to either get fired, or leave her job with the FBI so she and Castle (assuming he lives) can go back to New York.  I guess we'll see!

Premiere Week: HIMYM

SPOILER ALERT!
You've been warned. Proceed with caution!

How I Met Your Mother

The premiere of the final season of HIMYM was, for lack of better words, bittersweet.  All summer long I've been waiting to meet the mother after getting that glance in the finale last season.

Throughout the entire series, I've been guessing... Is it her?  Is she the mother? What about HER?  Until he started calling her Aunt Robin, I always thought that Robin was the mother.  Then when I finally saw her, I was SO EXCITED!... and then so sad because I knew that the next season would be it.  Barney burned his playbook and was settling down with Robin, Lily and Marshall had little Marvin, and now, we met the mother. *sniff, sniff, tear*

Last night's episodes were awesome.  It was the perfect beginning to the final season.  It started with everyone en route to Barney and Robin's wedding. Ted was driving Lily (leather driving gloves were definitely a must!), Marshall was with baby Marvin at the airport, ready to board his flight from Minnesota, and Robin and Barney were being driven by Rajit.

Ted was driving Lily nuts with his every stop at each little tourist trap along the way, determined to turn their trip into "Lil and Ted's Excellent Adventure!"  She finally had enough and decided to get off at their next stop and take the train to Farhampton.  "And kids, that is how Lily met your mother."  *sob sob*

We got to see how one of the gang got along with Her. Thankfully, they seemed to have clicked! I'm excited to see if throughout the season, we get to see Her meet everyone else before meeting Ted :-)  Ted also paused and told the kids about the similarities of he and Her (the driving gloves, for example). What we later found out was that Ted purposely tried to ditch Lily so he could retrieve the LOCKET to give to Robin! Could he be the wildcard guest?!?!  I mean, we know how it eventually ends for HIM, but what about Robin and Barney??

Marshall wasn't having the easiest of times getting to Farhampton.

He found out that his mother posted a picture of him pretending to be a judge with baby Marvin.  If you remember, he accepted a position as a judge in New York and had not told Lily yet because she accepted a position in Italy and was planning on the three of them moving there! He was on his phone, trying to explain to him mom how to take the photo down, "CLICK OPTIONS!" He and the aggravated woman next to him were eventually kicked off of the flight because he refused to turn his phone off so they could take off.  After being kicked off the flight, he and his flight buddy eventually rented a car and decided to carpool to the wedding.

During their drive to the wedding, Robin and Barney were discussing wedding guests that could potentially ruin their wedding. That is when they both discover that they have the same cousin, thanks to Robin being Canadian and Barney being ¼ Canadian!

Thankfully, they found out that they do not share DNA :-)  While discussing who could be the wildcard guests, they NEVER even mentioned the names of any of their friends! I'm already nervous about the wedding...

I have a feeling that this season will be legen...wait for it...dary. (Even though Barney said he no longer needs to wait for it because he has Robin *tear*) I'm excited to see how The Mother meets the rest of the gang and finally, how Ted meets Her.  We kind of know that he is waiting for a train in the rain and that She has a yellow umbrella. We've seen that scene several times.

But, how did they get there?  It will be fun!!

The One With All The Resolutions

Season 5 - Episode 11
The One With All The Resolutions
Air Date: 1/7/1999

The best Friends episode, hands down, has to be The One with All the Resolutions.

Everyone made a resolution for the new year.  Ross's resolution was to try something new every day.  One of those days involved wearing a pair of leather pants... that got really hot... on a date...

Rachel resolved to not gossiping as much.  She found out about Monica and Chandler and had to tell someone...

Have you seen that episode?  I can't get enough of it.  I laugh every time I watch it!
Happy Friday, friends :o)

Premiere Week: Thursday & Sunday

Thursday AKA The Best Day Ever

Thursday was the season 8 premiere of Grey's Anatomy.  Anyone who knows me knows that Thursdays are my Christmas Eve.  I love this show.  One thing I love about it is that they always have major disasters.  Now, I've never been to Seattle but I highly doubt that all of these huge bad things happen on a weekly basis.  Remember the ferry crash?  The plane crash that ended last season?  Or what about the really weird cases?  Tree boy?  Whatever it is, I love it in a dark and twisty way :o)  This season started with a sink hole the size of Montana.  It was crazy scary and had me worrying about Lala all night long (glad she's ok!)

Aside from the medical drama, there was the whole relationship aspect that makes Grey's well, Grey's!  Last season left us wondering what would happen between Meredith and Derek with the whole mess of the trial switch and their adoption of Zola.  As it turned out, the chief had to fire Meredith, but seeing as it is called Grey's Anatomy and she is Grey, we all knew she'd be back, right?  In the end, the chief took the fall for her since it was his wife she was trying to help.  She got her job back and started trying to patch things up with Derek.

The whole Zola situation is still weird.  Personally, I think it will take away from Meredith and Derek as a couple, but what do I know?  I'm only the biggest fan of Grey's in the world!

Cristina found out she was pregnant at the end of last season.  She had planned on having an abortion, but as we saw last Thursday, she was still with child.  She did not put it off because she changed her mind though.  She was waiting for Owen to understand her reasons.  Meredith said it best, “Trying to pretend she loves a kid as much as she loves surgery will almost kill her, and it will almost kill your kid. Do you know what it’s like to be raised by someone who didn’t want you? I do. To know you stood in the way of your mother’s career? I do. I was raised by a Cristina. My mother was a Cristina, and as the child she didn’t want, I’m telling you: Don’t do this to her because she’s kind and she cares and she won’t make it. The guilt of resenting her own kid will eat her alive.”  Wow.  In the end, I think he got it.

I'm not even going to talk about Kepner as chief resident because it is dumb and not funny.  She needs to go.

Sunday
Desperate Housewives started their final season.  Last season ended with the murder of Gabby's sicko stepfather.  The ladies of Wysteria Lane buried him in the woods and tried to go on with life.  Susan is a ticking time-bomb.  She can't face her friends and is having a really hard time not telling Mike.  Bree is still dating the cop guy, and a not-very-good-cop at that if he bought the whole aunt story.  Last night was just eh for me.

Love you girls!

Premiere Week: Tuesday and Wednesday

TUESDAY
First of all, let me just take this opportunity to express my dislike for Fox.  Fort Wayne has decided, for some reason, to take Fox away from regular cable.  They only way we can watch it is if we have the HD channel, which we do, but only upstairs in the family room.  Hence the reason for having to record my Fox Tuesday shows and watch them on Wednesday.  Having said that, I will now bow at the feet of Rachel Berry and shout my love for Glee from the highest mountain... in Fort Wayne.

The cast arrives at school for the beginning of a new school year.  The New Directions were short a few members.  Sam left town with his dad, leaving Mercedes to find a new man. Side note: I really hope Mercedes has a bigger role this season.  She and Artie have amazing voices and should be shown off more!  Zizies quit after the loss at nationals because she was too good for a loser group.  Quinn traded her long blond locks for a short hot pink cut.  She's taken up a bad girl attitude and joined the ranks of the Skanks.  Rachel tried to convince her that she needs to come back to the New Directions... Obviously she will eventually because, well, she has to.

In attempt to recruit new members to glee club, Mr. Schue came up with the Purple Piano Project.  Basically, he saved three pianos from foreclosed homes, painted them purple, and strategically placed them throughout the school.  The Gleeks were given instructions to break out into song when they came across the pianos.  The cafeteria number was pretty sweet.  It also prompted a food fight that I'm convinced has never happened in the real world.  The pianos got destroyed but the glee club survived.

I thought Sue would give the kids a break this season because of the thoughtfulness they put into her sister's funeral at the end of last season.  Instead, she completely destroyed one of the purple pianos with her own two hands.  Schue and Emma glitter-bombed her and the rest was history!

I heart Glee.

---
Once upon a time there was this show that came on and made the world say, "Thank you!  You are exactly what we have been waiting for!"  That new show, my friends, is New Girl.
Zooey Deschanel is adorable!  Her character, Jess, wanted to surprise her man so she came home early dressed in a trench coat and a bow.  Unfortunately, she was the one surprised when, while breaking out in song, her man emerges from the bedroom... with his new woman.  She goes on search for a new apartment and ends up living with three guys.  The athlete, the douchebag, and the sweetheart.  It was great and I can not wait to break out I've Had the Time of My Life with my new besties watch it next week!

WEDNESDAY
Modern Family premiered on Wednesday.  It was hilarious, as usual.  The only thing that I couldn't wrap my brain around was the fact that Lily went from newborn to toddler over the summer.  Really, every time she was on screen, I complained.  There wasn't an available Asian actress somewhere between 1 and 4 years old?  Really?

The fam headed to a Dude Ranch.  Dylan proposed to Hayley and Claire stole her proposal.  Some dork with either an accent or speech impediment (I really couldn't tell) stole Alex's first kiss.

Mitchell was insecure about bringing a boy into his and Cam's family because he thinks he is too feminine.  He tried to do "boy things" and helped Luke destroy a bird house with a firework (that part made me sad).

Philism of the episode: "Buffalo Phil -- worth the wait." -- in regards to his nickname.

Biggest LOL Moment:
Hayley: Dylan! Dylan!
Dylan: What?
Hayley: Where are you?
Dylan: Wyoming!

The second hour was just as funny!  Cam glitterfied the family scrapbook in attempt to impress adoption agencies.  He was also trying to plan out how to tell the family that he and Mitchell were going to adopt a little boy.  I LOVED the sparklers/Let's Hear It For the Boys combo!  HILarious!

Philism: Claire: Okay, can you grab me an extra virgin…

Phil: I think one's enough for the sacrifice.
Claire …olive oil, Phil.

LOL Moment: Cam: My sister was born with a full set of teeth.

Mitchell: That never happened.
Cam: Oh, yea? You should have seen her crib. It looked like beavers lived there.

Premiere Week: Monday

"It's the most wonderful time of the year..."
No, not Christmas... FALL PREMIERE WEEK!

SPOILERS AHEAD!  You were warned!

Last night kicked off fall premiere week.  I started my night on CBS with the premiere of season 7 of How I Met Your Mother.
Last season left off at Barney's wedding.  All summer, we got to wonder who he married.  Obviously they didn't reveal it in the very first episode, duh!  Part one began with Barney and Ted reminiscing about when the gang went to Cleveland for Punchy's wedding.  Marshal and Lily are pregnant but not telling anyone.  In attempt to cover for his secretly pregnant wife, Marshal was drinking for two.  He obviously got stupid drunk and ruined Punchy's wedding by announcing that, "this beautiful woman is pregnant," meaning Lily but unknowingly revealing Punchy's wife's secret.  Funny, but not season premiere funny.

I guess the biggest surprise (and not even that big because we all saw it coming... kind of) was when Robin admitted that she still had feelings for Barney even though he is trying to win back Nora.  Remember, this is all a memory so Barney could be marrying Robin or Nora.  Barney and Robin did, however, have a pretty sweet dance break in the middle of Punchy's reception!

The second half, Marshal swears off drinking after seeing what a Google search revealed about his past.  He wanted a background check by a potential future employer (Martin Short) to be completely clean.  Again, funny but not season premiere funny.  BUT, Ted spotted an ex and did that dreamy, googly eyed, open mouth stare thing he does.  Could this be the "mother"?

---

Next, I tuned in to Ashton Kutcher's debut on Two and a Half Men.  Let me start by saying, I am not a regular watcher of this show.  I have seen episodes in the past but have never really gotten in to it.  I was intrigued by the ads and the "winning" Charlie Sheen's character being killed off.
I will not become a regular watcher.  I don't know that I even laughed once.  I did get a little excited when Dharma and Greg were looking at the beach house, though!  I miss them...

---

My night was complete with the season 4 premiere of Castle!

Last season ended at Captain Montgomery's funeral.  Castle saw a flash of light out of the corner of his eye.  It was a sniper.  Beckett was shot.  Castle tried to save her and confessed his love for her.

This season picked up right where season 3 left off.  Castle, Lainey, Ryan, and Esposito all wait for news while Kate is in surgery.  Obviously she flat lines, and obviously she survives.  She tells Castle that she remembers nothing about the day she was shot, including Castle's confession.  She takes three months to recover and is back with fresh highlights in her hair.  Castle blames himself for what happened because he was pushing Beckett to dig into her mother's case.

The rest of the show was a little predictable but still great.  In the end, Kate comes face to face with the suspect they were pursuing and freezes.  Castle talks her through it and she later confesses to her psychologist that she remembers everything from the day of the shooting.
Castle and Beckett in a stand-off

The ending was a little disturbing... in a good way!  It is revealed that Castle is obsessed with finding Kate's shooter.  His daughter, Alexis, questions why a writer is in the middle of a high stakes murder/conspiracy investigation.  I think she will grow up and become more involved this season.  I also think that maybe Castle will take on a less goofy role.  All I know is that it was awesome and I'm super excited for this season!

Tonight is the season premiere of Glee!  Unfortunately, I have to record it and watch it later... I know, right.

Babies Having Babies

I admit, I watch MTV's 16 and Pregnant.  Even though the title suggests that all of the kids are 16, most in the show are actually older than that.  I'd sit back and watch and be entertained as these girls are still having sleepovers with their high school buddies AND BABY.  Some girls would try to finish high school but in the end, they were too far behind and had to drop out.  They got it; babies take a LOT of work!  It's not just cute outfits and fun toys!

Last night, the pregnant teen was 15 years old and the dad-to-be was 16 years old!  Neither one had a driver's license or a job.  The mother of the pregnant teen tried to talk her daughter into adoption.  This mother was a single mom and was already struggling to provide for herself and her own teenage daughter.  She knew that it wouldn't be in her budget to raise another baby.  This mother was also a pregnant teen and she chose adoption.  The boy in the situation argued that his dad walked out on him when he was little.  He didn't want to do that to his daughter.  Ok, I get what he's saying, but he is only 16.  If he would have any common sense at all he, well first of all would not have gotten his girlfriend pregnant, but also should realize that he will not be able to provide for his daughter.  He should let responsible adults with jobs adopt her and give her the life that he felt was entitled to her.

Ultimately, the girl kept her child.  She and her boyfriend arranged that he would sleep over at her house every other night so he could help out.  This is where the adult mom should step in and say, "Um, no."  I mean, come on!  These are kids!  Kids don't have boy-girl sleep overs!  I don't care if you do have a child together.  What do you think got you in this situation in the first place?  But, the boy slept over and thankfully MTV was there to capture all of his help.  He yelled at the teen mom.  He called her lazy.  He said she did nothing when in actuality, she was the one that stopped going to school, enrolled in virtual school, and stayed home to raise her child.  Again, all mistakes.  Yes, the baby is her responsibility but she needs to be in school.  It's just all so backwards.  I know that day care is expensive, but there are also government funded facilities and assistance for people that can not afford it.  If it was my daughter, she would be in school everyday and working every weekend to help provide for her child.  Last night, the girl decided that since she was due in a month, she should try to go buy some things for the baby.  She went shopping with $25.  That won't even buy a can of formula and a box of diapers.

I looked up the cost to raise a child today.  According to About.com, it will cost a middle-class U.S. family about $222,360 ($286,050 adjusted for inflation) to raise a child born in 2009 to the age of 17.  The costs for food, shelter, and other child-raising necessities total from $11,650 to $13,530 per year, depending on the age of the child.

I think that MTV's intention of this show was to show kids that raising a baby is hard work.  They are doing that, but I think that it is also making being a pregnant teen sort of a trend.  I also think that it is making it more ok in society's eyes for kids to have babies.  Something else needs to be done.  These kids think they are in love.  They have images of a perfect family in their heads.  They think it is always going to work out and be great and that they will have their "happily ever after."  Sorry kids... Your happily ever after just took a different path.  That baby should've been given up for adoption.  It would not have been abandonment, but love that the teen parents showed her.

Keepin' It Real

Why is it that I alway get so disappointed by reality shows?

I'm not going to see you for like ever because I'm going to Paris... But when they say "cut," let's go to the club with L.C. and Audrina and Justin Bobby, ok?
When I watched the final episode of The Hills, I seriously had flashbacks of the day I found out that Santa Claus wasn't real.  I was devastated!  It was fimed on a SET?!  Kristin didn't really leave Brody to go to Paris?!  They drove around the BLOCK???  Oh, the agony.  My heart was crushed.  Crushed.

I started to slowly regain my faith in these so-called reality shows because I wanted Leah, Corey, Ali, and Aleeah to live happily ever after in their cute little trailer in the woods... But then even poor Leah started getting for-real salon highlights and fake nails and I new that she really wasn't poor because there was NO WAY in the world that I could have afforded a trailer, two kids, salon highlights AND fake nails when I was a teenager.  Crushed.

I knew I could always count on the REAL reality shows... you know, like American Idol!  That show is for-real reality.  I truly believe that there are normal, average kids (yes, I say kids because I am OK with the fact that each and every finalist on the stupid show was younger than me...) with too-awesome-for-words-make-my-heart-cry (James makes it cry scared tears) voices.  I truly believe that America calls and votes for these people and Idol relys 100% on America's votes.  Totally legit.  Totally real.  But, because I've been burned in the past, my sensors are on full alert for these reality shows.  Tell me that I'm not the only one that caught the set-up last night.  Idol is down to the top 4.  This is big deal stuff!  The producers need to be 100% fair to each and every contestant.  Mike tells me that they (the producers) always put the singer last that they want to win so that singer is fresh in callers' minds.  I didn't believe him.  I trusted Idol.  Idol let me down.  Idol is now on the same level as The Hills.  Each contestant sang two songs last night.  The order STARTED out as 1. James, 2. Haley, 3. Scotty, 4. Lauren.  When it came time for the second songs, Ryan announced that if you are keeping track of numbers, pay attention because there was going to be a change.  Hmmm....?  They changed the ORDER!  James should have sang his secong song first, but they moved him to the END!  The producers want that screaming Adam Lambert-wannabe to win!  I'm sorry, but James is just Adam Lambert's second chance.  He has to scream in every song he sings and it is getting O.L.D.  I admit, he rocked that Journey song, but everyone else did just as good!  Idol is unfair.  Idol cheats.  They may as well hire Kristin Cavallari to judge next season.  Blah.  I'm still holding out that James will be the next one to get the boot because Haley is awesome and Lauren and Scotty are just too cute for words.  I'm sure I'll be disappointed though.

Glee's Anatomy?

Well, I had another post scheduled for this morning but after last night's Grey's, how in the world could I NOT talk about it?
It probably won't surprise you to know that I "like" GA on Facebook.  They have been posting a lot about the music event episode lately, so I knew before watching that it was going to act out the songs that have been made famous by the show.  I was super pumped and had heard that Sara Ramirez (plays Callie Torres) blew those songs out of the water!  I did however, forget the plot... I know, HOW?  Remember, I do not read up on Grey's, I do not watch commercials for Grey's, I don't like to know anything about the characters or plot prior to watching (besides GA on FB).  I assumed that the music event they had been talking about would be clips from past episodes with Sara singing in the background.  Boy, oh boy was I wrong!

If you remember last week, Arizona asked Callie to marry her and then the hit a truck.  Huge monster cliffhanger!  This week started with Callie through the windshield of Arizona's car.  She saw herself standing there.  From the first second of the show, I was at the edge of my seat!  And then she started singing.  It was amazing and beautiful and perfect and I cried a little.  I LOVED it.  I thought to myself, "This is going to be perfect!  Callie will be singing while she watched her friends work to save her life! GENIUS, Shonda Rhimes, genius."  Que Owen Hunt.  What the heck?  He broke the suspense that the beginning of the show had.  He took away from the trauma; I mean come on, this isn't just any patient... this is CALLIE!

Throughout the show, the whole cast sang.  I thought their voices were great and I felt like a proud mama duck watching them sing all of those songs.  The only song that I thought could have been left out was the faster one (I don't even know if I had ever heard it before).  It didn't fit at all.  The plot shifted, the characters were out of their element, it was just awkward.

The story was great.  Actually, it was probably the best of the season (duh!).  Emotions were raw and out there.  Meredith admitting to Derek that she was jealous of Callie for getting pregnant on accident when all she wanted was to have a baby gave me goosebumps.  The scene where they are rushing Callie to surgery while she was sitting on herself, singing "Grace" rates in the top 10 best GA scenes ever.  Also up there was the scene of all the doctors scrubbing in together before the operation while "How To Save A Life" was being sung.  I too was singing... and crying!  Or what about when the helicopter landed and Addison jumped out??  Epic.

As far as the entire episode as a whole goes... Do you remember way back when ER decided to do their live episode?  Do you remember feeling all excited about it, thinking you were going to see real doctors work live on TV?  No?  Well I was a little younger then and the line between real and fiction was a little blurry... Anyway, most importantly, do remember being felt let down by that episode?  I remember wishing I hadn't watched it because I was hoping for and imagining so much more than it actually was.  This is where I can stand and applaud Rhimes for a great (not awesome) job!  You exceeded my expectations on so many levels!  My only beef is that the music event was during Callie's trauma.  I felt that it took away from the personal, intimate connection fans have with the cast.  I was crying for Callie, Arizona, and Mark.  I would have liked to hear those songs played in the background and make the show more intense.  But, what's done is done.  I loved the episode, I love Grey's.  I will watch and love this show forever!

Here is an audio clip from the music event:

These are a few of my favorite things

I have never been a fan of the skinny jeans.  Can you blame me though?  I live in the dumbest city in America (Men’s Health 2005) and the fourth fattest city in America (Centers for Disease Control 2002)!  There are a lot of dumb, fat people here that think they look good in skinny jeans and honestly, it makes me throw up a little in my mouth.  Well, Mike and I went jeans shopping last week and if you saw my Facebook post, you know that I am now on the skinny jeans bandwagon!  I love them!  BUT, I don't care how tight or stretchy they are, I REFUSE to call them jeggings!
Shirt: J. Crew, Jeans: Maurices, Shoes: Crocs... yes, I rock the Crocs.
If you've been a regular blog reader of mine for a while, you already understand my OBSESSION with Diet Sierra Mist Cranberry Splash!  I know I have a problem with hoarding this stuff.  I am always so afraid they will run out before I get burned out!  Remember when I almost took my own life for lack of DSMCS? Thankfully I had friends that slapped some sense into me :o)  Well, it's baaa-aaack!  The shelves were completely stocked so I only bought one 2-liter but this is how it looked that same night:
I told you I'm obsessed.  Oh, and every time I poor a glass, Mike swoops in and takes a "sip."  He then makes a disgusted face and proceeds to tell me that it is NOT good... THEN QUIT WASTING IT!  It's mine!  ALL mine!

Please, please tell me you thought of me when you watched the results show of Dancing With the Stars!  I about choked when I heard that my love, Michael Bolton, was going to be singing, but when Brooke announced that he was going to be singing Hallelujah, I seriously peed a little!  Michael is awesome.  That song is awesome.  Awesome + awesome = AMAZING!  I'm not obsessed though.  It's a complete coincidence that I married a Michael and I live on Bolton Drive.  Coincidence, I swear ;o)

One more thing that really needs no words:
Merry Christmas Eve!

Triple Threat Thursdays!

Ah, Thursday :o)  I love Thursdays!  Seriously.
(You know I'm wearing my "Seriously." shirt!)

You do, McDreamy!

Even though last week's premiere episode was a little less than what I expected, I still watched and loved!  I didn't have HIGH expectations simply because last season's finale left no cliffhangers... not a single one!  It would have made for a suspenseful premiere night if McDreamy was left flat-lining all summer.  I do have to admit though that last week was probably the first time Grey's has ever made me turn away.  A kid had a brain tumor that could only be removed by splitting his entire face in half!  I know it's not real (like The Hills) but it still made me scream and puke at the same time when the saw came out and they sliced his jaw between his front teeth!  Holy. Crap.  Then, afterward when he was waking up and his face looked so swollen!  His tongue (also cut in half) was puffed out of his mouth...
GREY'S ANATOMY - "With You I'm Born Again" -- After an unforgettable and heart-pounding season finale, "Grey's Anatomy" returns for its seventh season on THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 23 (9:00-10:01 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. In the season premiere, the hospital staff is trying to deal with physical and emotional trauma in the wake of the deadly rampage of a vengeful gunman. As Dr. Perkins (James Tupper), a trauma counselor, is brought in to help in the recovery and to assess each doctor's readiness to return to work, Derek makes a spontaneous decision to resign as Chief and rushes back into surgery, taking everything a little too fast, and Cristina buries herself in her wedding planning. I know you can't see the patient's face very well but it was NASTY!

This week looks like it is going to have me on the edge of the couch...
Hold on because it's gonna be a bumpy ride!

Before Grey's (on CBS at 8 pm) is the wonderfully hilarious Big Bang Theory!  Last week in the season premiere, Wolowitz found a new use for his robotic arm and Penny chaperoned Sheldon's first (ever) date!  Of course it was hilarious as I'm sure tonight's episode will be!

Then, after Grey's is Private Practice!
PRIVATE PRACTICE - "Take Two" - Pete and Violet anxiously prepare for their wedding day, but Cooper may have to intervene when emotions and fear of the future run high. Things have taken a surprise turn with Addison and Sam, and Naomi juggles the burden of caring for her daughter and newborn granddaughter and worries about Dink's ability to parent. Despite disagreements and deeply-rooted conflicts, the doctors come together to mourn the loss of their friend, Dell, on the fourth Season Premiere of "Private Practice," THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 23 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. (ABC/ADAM ROSE) TIM DALY, AMY BRENNEMAN
Last week, a couple came in and wanted to have a baby through a surrogate.  They had done this once before but the child died from suffocation when the father forgot it was in the car and went to work, leaving the child to die in the heat of the car.  Also, Pete and Violet got married, Cooper and Charlotte decided that they were ready to get married, and Addison and Sam took a bath... together.  It looks like this week is going to be good!

I love Thursdays!  It's like Christmas Eve, right?  ;o)
