Father's Day

For Father's Day this year, we had both of our families over to celebrate!

The girls passed out gifts to their dad and their grandpas.

Jaden made a couple of very special gifts this year. For Mike, she made a pendant to hang from his rear view mirror in his car.

For her Grampa Max, she made a binder full of drawings and stories that she created just for him!

The girls with my dad, their Grampa Max.

The girls with Mike's dad, their Grandpa Ron (or just Gramps).

Shane was even able to come over all the way from PA!

It was a great day... We are all so lucky to have these three wonderful fathers in our lives!

The girls just LOVE their Uncle Shane-O more than life itself!

We ended the day with Jaden reading us all a bedtime story.

Both girls cried when Shane had to leave that day because they just wanted him to stay longer!  It broke their heart (and his) to have him go.  Taylor had a hard time that night and into the next day. She just missed Shane-O so much.  After talking with Shane the next day and telling him the story, we decided to both sign up for Skype and let the girls give him a call!

Taylor was SO EXCITED to get to talk to Shane-O!  We've done it many times since then. They always have fun talking and being goofy with Shane-O :-)

So, that was our Father's Day!

Zoo Day with Gramma J

Like I have said before, we have a membership to our zoo. We love going all summer long!

This trip, Gramma J came along to enjoy the fun!

Mike made a new friend :-)

These are my favorite animals at the zoo. They are the red pandas. I felt so bad for these little cuties because shortly before, they had a baby and it didn't survive :-(  Apparently is is rare for red panda babies to survive. That is why they are so endangered.  They are SO cute though!

Funny story about this croc... The zoo sometimes gets animals that have been rescued. More often than not, people think they can have these animals as pets in their homes. When they change their mind, the zoo sometimes takes them.  Well, this alligator used to be a drug guard. I heard that drug dealers had it in their house to guard their drugs and/or money from people trying to steal it.  This guy is like 8 feet long!

I love how the girls break off tiny pieces of bread, line them up, and flick them into the water one at a time :-)

Another fun zoo day!  Thanks for joining us, Gramma J!

After the zoo, we went home and played outside for a while. The girls heard the ice cream truck and since it was 100° outside, I decided to splurge on a few frozen treats :-)

Just another fun summer weekend!

Zoo Day

The zoo opened in April and we finally made it there for the first time in June :-)  It was not busy at all! There was a chance of rain and it had already been raining all week. We love days like that. Having a membership, we can go for as long as we want. If we only get to stay for a little bit, that's ok because we can go back anytime we want to!

The girls were LOVING having all of the time in the world on the ZOO letters!

First up was Africa. You absolutely HAVE to scream when running through the tunnel to Africa.

We did get to go on the sky ride even though it was pretty breezy!

I think the girls like playing in the cars more than they like to see the actual animals :-)

See Bill the lion back there? He gets pretty close to the glass at times!

After leaving Africa, we headed to the rainforest!

Like I said, it had been raining a LOT. Parts of the zoo were closed due to flooding.

We didn't get to go in the gazebo to feed the fish and ducks.  It didn't stop us though!

After the zoo, we went to Steak 'n Shake for a little lunch!  My future SNS servers :-)

It was a fun day :-)
