So Long, Farewell, Auf Weidersehen, Adieu...

Yesterday, we said our final goodbye to "the lake". We had a lot of fun memories there last summer and yesterday was no exception. The sad thing is, I doubt Jaden will remember going to the lake when she gets older.

She also got to see a frog up close! VERY cool to a 2-year-old!

Backing up a little bit... On Friday, Jaden took her new car she got for her birthday out for a spin!

All was well until she got stuck in a mud hole in the neighbor's yard... She was kicking and screaming, resulting in mud all over the inside of her car, all over her feet and sandals, and all up her legs. She refused to let me help her out. Eventually I just picked her up, car and all, and walked back to our house. Ugh... what a pistol!

Saturday was the perfect day (besides a little wind) for our first visit to the zoo for the year.

Again, my stubborn daughter was not very cooperative when I wanted to take her picture. She kept saying, "No Maw! No picture!!" She's not old enough to be embarrassed by me yet, is she? Her favorite animal... the PENGUINS!! Definitely her mother's daughter :o) She wanted to see the giraffes but the African part doesn't re-open until June. I told her the giraffes were taking a nap. Her response: "With paci and blankie?"

It was a great weekend :o) This weekend, Mike and I plan on tackling some hardcore yard work! Sit down for this one, Gram... I'm going to (try to) plant a garden! My goal is to NOT kill it this time... or the bunnies that will inevitably try to munch on it :o) That's Dad's job!
