I think this is the recipe we used:
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups butter, softened
2 cups white sugar
4 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
5 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
Directions
In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir in the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cover, and chill dough for at least one hour (or overnight).
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Roll out dough on floured surface 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick. Cut into shapes with any cookie cutter. Place cookies 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake 6 to 8 minutes in preheated oven. Cool completely.
We used Jello Jigglers cutters because 1. we had them, and 2. they were smaller than regular cookie cutters. Then, instead of frosting them (because I knew we were going to put them in baggies and the frosting would get everywhere), I dipped them in chocolate.
Jaden did the sprinkling!
They turned out great!!
Then, we put one of each in snack sized baggies. I wanted to make the card the same size as the baggie so it would look like a store-bought package but time got away from me (and I measured wrong didn't measure the width of the baggie first) so I just tied the note to the baggie!
Jaden carried them in her little bag and passed them out to her friends at the babysitters, the employees at the grocery store, and to her grandparents. Everyone loved them :o)
We even had enough to fill up our cookie jar at home!
I'm linking this to my favorite linky parties!
