We LOVE blankies at our house! When I was a kid, I had the BEST blankie ever. It was a Raggedy Ann quilt. I loved it because it was always cold! I slept with that blankie up until I got married. I LOVE it!
Jaden loves her blankie too. She has a super soft pink blankie with a satin trim. She is obsessed with that thing! When I was pregnant with Taylor, Jaden picked out a blankie for her sis. It is exactly like her pink one, only purple. Well, Taylor likes it but it's not her blankie. She is more of a flannel girl and loves her tiny receiving blankets. I decided that for her Christmas gift, I would make her a bigger, thicker flannel blankie!
It was SUPER easy to make. Here's how i did it:
Need:
1 yard each of two coordinating flannel fabrics
threaded sewing machine
about 20 minutes of your time!
First, lay out your flannel with the print sides facing each other and pin.
Sew around the edge, leaving ½ inch seam and about a four-inch opening.
Turn your blankie right-side out and pin.
Zig-zag around the border, leaving a ¼ inch all the way around.
Done! Ready for some lovin'!
I'm sure Taylor will love it!
I'm linking up to all of my usual parties this week :o)

i think i want a sewing machine for christmas now:)
Cute fabric choices. Nothing like a nice flannel blanket on a cold winter night!!!
Cute! Three out of four of my children have had special blankies. We call 'em "silkies," but only one of them is a larger blanket. The other two are small, maybe 12" squares. All are equally loved. ;)
I am stopping by from Things I love Thursdays at Diaper Diaries. Impossible that it's so simple. LOL I haven't gotten out my sewing machine in a year. I think it's time. I love the colors. I am your newest follower and would love a follow back on my blog!
So cute! I love this idea!
Oooh, I'm making a baby blanket for a co-worker and was planning on doing a straight stitch on the outside. Zig zag is way cuter.
I make these for all of my friends that are having babies. I made some for my little boy too. Thanks for sharing over at Tuesday Tell All.
I am a sucker for baby blankets. The little man is still a blankie boy! Love the fabrics you chose! Hoping you'll visit me at Sew Chatty and link up to Made With Love Monday! Wishing you a very blessed Christmas! http://sewchatty.blogspot.com
