100 Reasons to Celebrate

Last October, Mom and Dad set out on a journey toward a healthier lifestyle. They both had quit smoking about two years prior and were ready to start eating better and exercising. Dad set a goal to lose 100 pounds by his birthday. Well, last Friday was Dad's birthday... I'll just let the pictures tell the story:

Mom and Dad last August:
Dad and Mom last Friday:
He did it!! 102.2 pounds!! Way to go Dad! They both look amazing and I'm sure they feel 102.2 times better :o) They didn't go on the latest "fad diet" or starve themselves for a quick fix. They are simply eating healthier and both are exercising daily. I am so proud of their accomplishments!!

We got Dad a hooded IU sweatshirt for his birthday. He had never been able to wear hoodies before because he was too big. Now, as you can see, it fits nicely around his neck AND it is loose enough in the front for him to actually use the pocket!!

Since we had double the reason to celebrate on Friday, we all got Dad "100" gifts :o) Shane got him a jar of 100 sugar free candies. Jaden gave him a 100 piece puzzle for them to do together. Mike got Dad a box of chocolate covered pretzels 100 Calorie Packs. Mom got him a 100-page notebook. I gave him a book of 100 crossword puzzles. It took him until maybe the third or fourth one before he caught on to the theme :o)
Congratulations on such a HUGE accomplishment!!
