a GRATE cookout dessert!

Summer is the season for cookouts!  We get invited to them often this time of year.  I always try to find new recipes to take... For the 4th of July cookout we went to, I put a spin on a traditional favorite: BROWNIES :o)

Thanks to Disney Family Fun, these fun treats were a huge hit!

What you need:
1 box brownie mix (and the ingredients that go with it)
Black piping l (or white frosting and black food coloring)
Black food coloring
Red (or orange) sugar
Caramel creams
Fruit snacks
Hot Tamales candies
Paper cupcake liners
Toothpicks

Prepare brownie mix as directed on the box.
Pour batter into paper cupcake liners.
TIP: Lightly spray your paper liners with cooking spray.
Bake for 30-35 minutes or until they test done.
Let brownies cool completely.

Pipe black grill grates onto each brownie and sprinkle with red sugar.

Prepare the grill food and place on top of the brownies.

Hot Dogs:
Hot Tamale candies with black food coloring grill marks applied with a toothpick.
To make black food coloring, add equal drops of red, green, and blue food coloring.

Kebabs:
A caramel cream, red, orange, and green fruit snacks, cut into small pieces and stuck on a toothpick skewer.  Apply black food coloring grill marks with a toothpick

Steaks:
Cut a caramel cream candy in half.
Flatten and mold into the shape of a steak.
Apply black food coloring grill marks with a toothpick.

These are guaranteed to be the talk of the cookout!

I'm linking this up with my favorite linky parties!
